The 15th season of the Indian Premier League was like a nightmare for 31-year-old experienced batsman Mayank Agarwal of the Indian team. In fact, for the last season, he was appointed as its captain by the team of Punjab Kings. However, he appeared under pressure throughout the tournament. At first, in the initial phase, he was seen opening the innings for the team, but when his bat remained silent, he was given the responsibility of grooming the innings in the middle order, but he was a flop here too.
The veteran players were also very disappointed with Agarwal’s performance in the last season. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh, former veteran spinner of Team India, has also shared his views on Agarwal’s performance in the last season. He said in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, ‘Can’t believe what happened to Mayank this season. He is a very promising player, but it seems he was under pressure because of the captaincy. While opening, he came at number four. I think he should have been given freedom to play freely. He has always been under the radar.

Talking about the performance of Mayank Agarwal in IPL 2022, he played a total of 13 matches for PBKS. During this, only 196 runs came from his bat in 12 innings at an average of 16.33. During this his strike rate also staggered. Agarwal was ranked 49th in the list of highest run-scorers in IPL 2022.
